Australia's U23 national team, the CommBank Olyroos, will play two home friendlies against Korea Republic this week. The games at polytec Stadium in Gosford on Saturday and Tuesday are the first step in their effort to reach the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

CommBank Young Socceroos head coach Trevor Morgan will lead the squad for the October window. He has chosen a 23-player group for the Olyroos' first home matches since September 2019, when they drew twice with New Zealand.

"This is an exciting opportunity to bring together a group of talented young Australian players and begin building towards the challenges ahead for the CommBank Olyroos," Morgan said.

Heather Garriock, Football Australia's Executive Director of Football, welcomed the team's return. "It’s fantastic to have the CommBank Olyroos back playing on home soil and to give Australian football fans the opportunity to see some of our country’s rising stars in action," Garriock said.

The friendlies offer strong opposition as the team prepares for pre-qualification matches for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup in June 2027. That event will decide Asia's teams for the LA28 Olympics.

While the senior Socceroos are second in their World Cup qualifying group, the focus for this young group is firmly on the future. The first match starts at 3.00pm AEST on Saturday, with tickets available to the public. Both games will be streamed live.
